Rather than re-create a scene from an existing Little Golden Book, I wanted to capture the feeling of being a kid and reading them. So the idea behind my, "A Golden Afternoon", was inspired by my childhood of building blanket forts with my stuff animals. And if you look closely, all the stuff animals in the piece are inspired by the Golden Books characters.
