Look at This, Look at That!
The first piece I created is a pop-up. I love doing layered pops, so thought it would be interesting to see if it could stand alone without a backing. So I wound up die-cutting out the entire outer area so it becomes like a pop-up sculpture. This is the first 'free-standing' pop-up I've ever created and it came out pretty cool! It will be available as a limited edition pop-up.
The second piece, or series of quills, I created is based off an old classic of Dr. Seuss'. I'm sure you can guess:

Liebster Blog Award
I have to say it was a complete surprise to be given the Liebster Blog award by Crafting Creatures late last month! It’s been so hectic that I haven’t had a moment until now to acknowledge it but am very grateful for the honor.
The idea of the Liebster Blog Award is to spread the love from one small blog (under 200 followers) to other small blogs. "Liebster" in German means "dearest". This helps to spread knowledge and readership.
To accept the award, you must:
2) Post the award to your blog.
3) Give the award to 5 bloggers (with less than 200 followers) that you appreciate and value.
4) Leave a comment on the blogs of the five people you have chosen to let them know.
Most of the blogs I follow have well over 200 followers and those that I love often don’t display how many at all. But in accordance to the ‘rules’ established below, I’m very proud to pass the honor allow to some of the most talented people I know and went to school with:
Helen Yoon – talent, creative, and speed= a combination to die for
Paul Cohen – bold and purposeful; one of the best draftsman I know
Laura West – quick and gestural; Illustrations full of life and color
Jocelyn Liang – graphic and fashion forward; one of the fastest artists I know
Joshua Lee – beautiful and fun; has an amazing ability to capture character
